Why Make These Lists?

  • As I have been researching some ancient ancestors I noticed there have been some historically significant individuals who fall into certain categories. I thought it would be interesting and fun to put them in list form.
  • Researching my ancestors is a hobby of mine and also helps explain who you are and why some things are the way they are. History is intertwined with this as well. To know some of your family, recent or ancient, were a part of that, makes history more relevant. It also puts things into a wider perspective when you discover different branches of your tree were on opposing sides.
  • It also becomes clear having ancestors who had these important titles is no way unique, nor makes you special. As literally many millions share these same ancestors. In fact, what would be rare, is if someone was of European descent and did not share some of these many great grandparents.
  • Thus by sharing these lists I'm really making the point of showing a typical European descent and that we are all related. If we understand we are all related, perhaps we would treat each other better than we do now.
