This is the last Will and Testament of me HANNAH DANBY of Queen Anne Street Harly (sic) Street London Spinster First I direct all my debts funeral expenses and (the) charges of and attending this my Will be fully paid I give and bequeath unto MARIA TANNER now living with me in Queen Anne Street aforesaid the sum of sixty pounds free of legacy duty I also give and bequeath unto EVELINA DUPRIES [half cousin to Hannah] the wife of JOSEPH DUPRIES of Number 2 Tavistock Street, Covent Garden the sum of fifty pounds free of legacy duty but such legacy is to be paid into the hands of the said EVELINA DUPRIES alone notwithstanding her (…..?ture?) and her receipt alone shall discharge my executrixes hereinafter mentioned And I do declare that such legacy shall in no wise be liable to the debts control of engagements in any way of the said JOSEPH DUPRIES I give unto Mr RUSKIN [correction from AUSTIN] the younger my painting of the late Mr JOSEPH WILLIAM MALLORD TURNER Royal Academission (sic) when a youth given by him to me free of legacy duty (if any) And I also give to Mrs HARPUR (sic) of Cobourg Place, Kennington my Tea Caddie free of legacy duty (if any) and I do hope that they the said Mr AUSTIN the younger and the said Mrs HARPUR will accept the same of me And I direct that the legacy duty on all the above legacies be paid out of me estate And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever that I shall or maybe at the time of my death possessed of or interested in or entitled to in the title remainder reversion or expectancy I give devise and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my dear three Cousins MARCELLA DANBY Spinster CAROLINE MARLISSA NIXON Widow and THERESA DANBY SYMONDSON Widow to be equally divided between them share and share alike And I do declare that if either of the said MARCELLA DANBY CAROLINE MARLISSA NIXON and THERESA DANBY SYMONDSON should die before me any children they may leave shall take the parents share is dying in my lifetime without children then the survivors in that case only to have the benefit of survivorship And I do appoint the said MARCELLA DANBY CAROLINE MARLISSA NIXON and THERESA DANBY SYMONDSON Executrixes of this my Will In witness whereof I the said HANNAH DANBY the Testatrix have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this seventh day of December one thousand eight hundred and fifty three – H DANBY (LS) – Signed Sealed Delivered and Declared by the said ( .nna – looks like Anna ? clerk’s mistake?)
