Knights of the Garter

The Order of the Garter was established by 20G Grandfather King Edward III in 1348 or possibly 1344. It includes the Sovereign and no more than 24 living Companions plus supernumary knights and ladies. Relatively recently Prince William became the 1000th member of the order.
