Web site for Qu'Appelle Diocesan School
https://qdsstchads.org/?i=1The move to the town of Hudson Bay Junction is described as follows. During WWII while Arthur Ogden was serving in the Army in Europe. His wife Bertha was teaching at a one room school and daughter Gloria attended this school. There had recently been bear attacks in the area. The school inspector moved them to Hudson Bay Junction School as he was concerned for their safety. [If they were living on the land that Arthur had received under the Soldier Grant they would have been living 1/2 mile from the northern forest. If this is the case, then contact with bears would not be surprising]
