Here lieth the Body
of
HUMFRY GRESWOLD Esq
A pious Son of the Church of England:
Dedicating X Pounds p. An. out of his Rectorie of this Par of Yardley
For an augmentation of the Vicarage of y same forever.

A loyal subject to his Soveraigns:
Bearing armes under King Charles I;
And the Office of Justice oth Quor for this County of Wrcest for Charles II

A good Patriot and Patron of the Poor:
Giving (besides other plentiful Alms & Deeds in his life as at his Death) V Pounds p. An. out of his Rectorie
To buy IV gownes for IV poor Men Inhabitants of the IV Quarters of this Parish forever.

He was the Son and Heir
of
Those excellent persons HUMFRY GRESWOLD Esq and ELIZABETH his Wife
Daughter and co-heir of FULK BURNE of Purshill Green in this County
and Grandson of HENRY GRESWOLD Esq and DOROTHY his Wife
Daughter and co-heir of HENRY JAMES of Farfield Court in this County Esq.
Through which said HENRY his Grandfather and HUMFRY his Father,
the Ineritance of their ancient Mannor of Greet in this Parish descended to him.

The which his Grandfather, Grandmother, Father, Mother, together with his II Wives,
LETTICE elder Daughter of JOHN STANTON of Longbridge Esquire:
and
ELIZ eldest Daughter and co-heir of EDM SMITH of Maplborow Green Gent:
As also III of his IV younger brethren viz: JAMES, FULK and JAMES
and
The II eldest of his VI sisters, viz: DOROTHY and PATIENCE;
Lie here like wife buried before him.
