Still living in 1945. A well respected member of the community. A family story reflects this last statement. In 1944 or 1945 a visiting family member attended church with
Ellen and Florence Jewell. After entering the church, the entire congregation stood while Ellen and Florence took their seats.

London: Following in the footsteps of her mother who lived to 105, Miss
Ellen Jewell, of Emsworth near Portsmouth, celebrated her 101st birthday. She has a sister in her 94th year.

These are jigsaw puzzles in the true sense of the word in that they were made on a treadle operated jig saw by two spinster sisters who were distant relatives of the vendor.
They were
Ellen Jewell 1853 - 1955 and Florence Jewell 1861-1960 and they lived all their lives in King Street, Emsworth; a street named after their mother's family who were prominent in the business and society of Emsworth from the 1700s.
