My Grandparents John S. Simpson born December 24, 1808 and Mary (Steins) Simpson born October 16, 1811 were married at Longmarton, England and died in Glencoe Ontario Canada in the year 1884 just seven months apart.

When they came to Canada from England they settled on the north side of the Thames River in Mosa Township, County of Middlesex, Ontario and on the west side of the Graham Road which runs south from Woodgreen on the Longwoods Road, now #2 Highway.

They gave a piece of land and helped build a church on it (Methodist). They also gave land for a cemetary (”SIMPSON CEMETARY”) on the North side of the River and across the road from the Simpson Homestead.
