Store owner dies in city
Funeral service for John Trevor Jones, 63, of Suite F, 1818 Scarth Street, was held at Speers funeral home, Friday with Rev. William Cole officiating. Burial was in the family plot, Regina cemetery.
Mr Jones, former proprietor of the Regina Meat market, died in hospital Wednesday after a long illness.
Born and educated in Wales, he came to Canada in 1912 and settled in Regina. He married in 1913 [actually 1914] and served with the Canadian Railway troops during the First World War. He started the Regina Meat Market in 1921 and operated it until 1950 when he retired.
Predeceased by his wife, Mr. Jones is survived by three sons, Fred and Jack of 2410 Athol street, Trevor, of Edmonton, two daughters, Mrs. Lil Warwick, Suite F, 1818 Scarth street, Mrs. E. O. Fitcha, of Warrenton Ore., three brothers in Wales and England and 13 grandchildren.
