WED IN HISTORIC LONDON CHURCH CAPT. R.H. TAPLEY, OF PLYMOUTH
Gowned in white lace, with long veil, and carrying a a bouquet of autumn roses and white heather, Miss Joan Evelyn Rosina Messenger was married on. Saturday at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London, to Capt. Rex Hamilton Tapley British Airways.
Rev. A. Osborne conducted the ceremony. Mrs. The bride's parents are and Messenger, of the Ministry of War Transport, Aden, and the bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Tapley, of Sunningdale, Hartley, Plymouth. Given away by her guardian, Sir Bernard Reilly, K.C., M.G., the bride was attended by one page, the four-years-old nephew of the bridegroom, Richard Garth Wareham, who wore a kilt and sporran, with white satin blouse. The bride's mother being abroad at present. Miss G. O'Toole, her aunt, acted for her, and wore the uniform of senior sister, R.A.F. Nursing Service. The bridegroom's mother wore a russet brown costume and sables.
Mr. R. Singer was best man, and Maj. Jack Taylor, R.C.C.S., Capt. J. R. Q. Rowett, R.A.. W. Aitkin, and H. Oliver were ushers. LEFT FOR DEVONSHIRE. Following a reception at 6, Stanhope-gate, Park-lane, London, Capt. and Mrs. Tapley left for and fur coat, with accessories, Devonshire. A dove-grey was the bride's travelling Outfit.
