In World war II he [was a photographer in the British Army and] some of his assignments were one of the cameramen when Bergen-Belson was liberated, took film of Himmler right after his suicide, filmed and was an official witness at the war crimes trials in Singapore including executions of Japanese who were found guilty.
After the war he was a photographer for the Picture Post and cited as Len or Carl Sutton.
