These are to Certify That Stephen Burst Hearsey came this 18th Day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Five before us Two of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the said County, at Whitechapel, in the said County, and did then and there take Oath of Allegiance to His present Majesty King George the Third. And the Oath of Abjuration of the Pope’s Ecclesiastical and Spiritual Authority. And Also the Oath for the true and faithful Execution of such Office as he shall be appointed to execute, respecting his Majestyy’s Duties arising by the Excise. Given under our Hands the Day and Year above written.
