A Norman nobleman from Percy, Normandy (Percy-en-Auge) who came to England immediately after the Norman conquest of 1066.
At the time of the Doomsday Book he held 118 manors in Lincolnshire and North Riding of Yorkshire and others in Essex and Hampshire
Accompanied Robert Curthose, Duke of Normandy on the First Crusade. He died within site of Jerusalem. His body was buried at Antioch and his heart returned to England and buried at Whitby Abbey.
