OGDEN-Dr. Benjamin Mahonri Taylor was peacefully and unexpectedly called home on July 15, 2003.
He was born on June 4, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mahonri M. Taylor and Cora Platt.
Benjamin was reared in Salt Lake City. He married Ruth Maw in the Salt Lake Temple on June 26, 1947.

He graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine, and performed his residency in psychiatry in Rochester, New York, and at Madigan Army Hospital in Fort Lewis, Washington.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea.

He was in private practice as well as employed by the University of Washington, the states of Montana and Utah, Granite and Weber County Mental Health, and the Utah State Hospital.

He loved serving in the church, especially teaching the gospel.
He and his wife served as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple, and served a mission to the Frankfurt Germany Temple.
President Gordon B. Hinckley set him apart as a temple sealer.

His spirit was always rejuvenated when he could be outdoors enjoying nature. He had the ability to love and be loved by everyone, and had a personal and professional influence on thousands.

Benjamin is survived by his wife of South Ogden; and children, Paul (Susan), Mukilteo, WA; James (Annette), Perry, UT; Douglas (Denise), S. Ogden; Stephen (Tammy), Gilbert, AZ; Margaret (David) Tipton, Elk Ridge, UT; Joseph (Debra), Kaysville, UT; Richard (Lea), S. Ogden; AnnMarie (Glenn) Ostlund, Tempe, AZ; Linda (Kevin) Lott, Tempe, AZ; 37 grandchildren, and three great-grand-children.

Also surviving is one sister, Beth Coolican, Sandy, Utah.

He is having a wonderful reunion with his second son, Mark, who passed away at the age of six.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2003 11:00 a.m. at the South Ogden 7th Ward building, 720 Nancy Dr., South Ogden, Utah.
Friends may call on Friday, July 18, 2003 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, as well as one hour prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Perpetual Education Fund.
