Early Franklin Wimberly, 79, died, Saturday, July 5, 2014 at River Oaks Medical Center. Born on January 25, 1935 in Jackson County, Florida, the son of the late Henry Franklin Wimberly and Ruth Abigail Wimberly.

A veteran, he served his country in the USAF during the Korean War. Mr. Wimberly worked for many years as a truck driver for Sears. A former resident of Utah, Mr. Wimberly resided in Rankin County for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and southern gospel music. Was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Pearl.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Lee Wimberly, brothers, Jim, Harry and Cleve Fiveash and brother-in-laws, Richard Lancaster and Edward Ramsey.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law of Brandon; three grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, all of Florida and a sister of Austell, Georgia.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida.

Graveside services following at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha, FL. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
