Husband of Isobel Haddow (nee Pettit) Fountain. He was a member of the Wiremu Street Bible Chapel, 4 Wiremu Street, Balmoral, Auckland (Open Brethren). Murray Fountain was well known for his singing of sacred music and he broadcast with the New Zealand Broadcasting Service and H.C.J.B., Quito, Ecuador. He also recorded '"How Great Thou Art", Sacred Solos by Murray Fountain' with Kiwi Record company.
