Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, LaRue Howell Kingston, returned to our Heavenly Father Feb. 18, 1999 at her residence in Woods Cross, after a valiant struggle with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 72.

Born May 8, 1926 at Salt Lake City to Vera Paxman and Ivan R. Howell. Lived in Nephi until 1941; moved to Salt Lake and graduated from South High School. Married Theodore Ray Kingston, Jr. on Sept. 23, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple; he died in 1988. Married Van E. Wright in 1992; later divorced, but remained close friends until his death, December 1994.Member of LDS Church and served in many callings in Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary. Was a faithful visiting teacher. She graduated from U of U Institute and had a romance with the scriptures. Served with her husband in the New Zealand Christchurch LDS Mission 1985-86. Member of DUP Eutah Camp. Enjoyed good music, especially opera; hobbies included gardening, and various needle works.

Survivors: Carol Jencks, Denver; Ted (Kathie); Paul (Toni); Richard (Sharon) Kingston; Lisa (Wayne) Buatte of Washington, UT; Joyce Harris, Sandy; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth (Jeano) Orlando. Preceded in death by her husband, T. Ray; and son, Samuel; sister, Barbara Whitehead; and parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 22, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Woods Cross 6th Ward, 790 West 1500 South. Friends may call Sunday, from 6-8 p.m. at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, and Monday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6800 So. Redwood Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Vista Care Hospice.
