According to her memoir, she was born in Lampertsloch, parish of Hatten, district of Weissenburg in Alsace (France). Lost her father when she was three years old, and the family had much hardship. Her stepfather did not want her, so when she was 12 she served as a children's maid. In 1721 she married Martin Hauser, and in 1726 they left Europe for Pennsylvania. During the voyage she lost her first born child, Johann Martin, who was buried at sea. Moved to North Carolina in 1753. At her death at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 8 days, she left six sons and one daughter, 39 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren without counting those who are already with the Lord.
