Funeral services for LaVeena Wheeler, age 73, of Bristow, Nebraska will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bristow. Pastor Glen Stahlecker will officiate, with burial at a later date.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Spencer, Nebraska.
LaVeena died Monday, February 20, 2017, at Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, Nebraska.
LaVeena Rae (Strong) Wheeler, daughter of William and Bernadine (Hauser) Strong, was born August 6, 1943, at O'Neill, Nebraska.
She graduated from Spencer Public School.
On June 22, 1960, LaVeena was united in marriage to Robert J. Wheeler at O'Neill Methodist Church. They were blessed with three children, Richard, Jenean, and Robert B.
LaVeena lived in the Bristow, Nebraska area and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed all of her family's activities.
LaVeena is survived by her husband, Robert J. "Butch" Wheeler of Bristow, Nebraska; son, Rick (Kay) of Yankton, South Dakota; daughter, Jenean of Lynch, Nebraska; son, Robert "Bob" (Chris) of Butte, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carlye (Bubs) Strong of O'Neill, Nebraska, Lois Scheinost of Spencer, Nebraska, and Vicki (John) Ziegler of O'Neill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister; one grandson; one great-grandson; and two nephews.
