Willard E. Hester, 94, passed away at his home in Greenwood, IN on January 31, 2014. Willard was born on January 7, 1920 in Worthington, IN. He served in the Marines during WWII in the Pacific Theater as an Airplane Mechanic. Willard worked at the Chevrolet plant in Indianapolis for many years. After that he owned and operated a Dairy Queen in Indianapolis. Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Inez (Bergmann) Hester and his parents, Milton Hester and Grace (White) Hester. He is survived by his brother, John Hester of Indianapolis, IN and his grand-niece, Courtney Creed, who provided tender loving care for him during his final years. He had 5 sisters that have passed before him. He is survived by 6 nieces, Maria Nape, Brenda Creed, Nancy Capps, Cynthia Smiley, Erlene Stephenson, Juanita Leonard and one nephew, John Hester Jr.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 South State Road 135 and Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, IN 46143. Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m in the funeral home. Willard will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
