William Gibbons, also known as Homer [His wife’s maiden name was Homer], was born in 1631 in Ettingshall, Staffordshire, the son of Thomas Gibbons and Ann Pershouse. William married Ann (Homer) Gibbons in 1766 [obviously incorrect, he would be 135 years old!] and together they had one son [I show 3], William Gibbons. William Gibbons Esq. died in 1683.
Condition Report: Relined. Surface dirt and craquelure throughout. Rubbing to the framing edges. Surface scuffs and scratches most notable to the upper right quadrant. Inspection under UV reveals a thick green masking varnish and scattered retouching.
