Lt. Col. A. Swift was commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion at this time. Battalion was in divisional reserve when this photo was taken.

W. M. Yates was with the 2nd Battalion at this time and would be appointed commander about 3 months later. Likely Yates would be in the front row near the middle.
