Gibson Platter
This platter has been handed down in the family from the Gibsons. It was made for the in Calcutta by Indian craftsmen for the European residents. It would have been made in about 1820.

Ruskin Manor London
163 Denmark Hill London Home of Robert Gibson and his wife Anne from 1817. Anne continued to live in the house until 1826. It included 7 acres of property.
Sometime after the Gibsons were occupants it was leased by John James Ruskin and after his death by his son John Ruskin. The painting the Slave Ship by JMW Turner would have been displayed here by the Ruskins!
Built in 1794 and demolished in 1949 to build some housing for Londoners made homeless by WWII bombing.
