In the 1841 census they are listed as

Living in North Lane, Harbury, Warwick.
Also in the household were Anne Gibson age 60 Marian’s mother living on her own means
and 4 servants.
(in the 1841 census ages were rounded to 5 years for adults). They were living on North Lane, Harbury, civil parish, Knightlow (Kenilworth Division) hundred, Warwickshire, England. The registration district was Southam. There are 2 other Howkins families in Harbury. They are John Howkins and William Howkins both Agricultural labourers, age about 25 and their families.

In the 1851 census there is a
Henry Howkins age 14, born in Warwick living at the Rectory, Wareham, Salisbury, Dorset. His relation to the head is pupil.
The head is Samuel R. Capel, rector of Wareham, age 49, born at Stroud Gloster. Samuel’s family, other pupils and others are also listed. This is a possible match.

Major - Henry Hawkins [note the spelling]
[He became an Ensign on 4 January 1856] Lieut., 12 Jan ‘57; Captain, 14 Feb ‘59; major, 2 July, ‘73: retired June, ‘74. Served during the embodiment of the Regiment at the time of the Crimean War and the Indian Mutiny.
It also says the 53rd or 2nd Warwickshire Infantry Militia was raised in 1853, being formed from the 1st Warwickshire Militia. Embodied during the Crimean War [October 1853 to February 1856] and Indian Mutiny[ May 10, 1857 to June 20, 1858]. Embodied Service [of the Battalion], 4 years 2 months

In the 1881 census there is a
Henry Howkins, lodger, age 44, born at Warwick, occupation Major Militia Retired. He is married.
His wife is Amelia Howkins age 43 born at Jersey.
They are living at 4 Sutton Place, St John Hackney, London, England.

In the October to December 1882 death index Henry Howkins, age 47, Plympton St. Mary district, Devon, volume 5b, page 154.

London Gazette February 16, 1883 Henry Howkins late of Park House Farm, Brixton Devon, formerly of No. 4 Sutton-place, Hackney, Middlesex, gentleman, deceased (Who died on the 5th day of November last etc. Executors Amelia Howkins, Richard Stevens and Henry Stevens.
