Fredrick Hughes (1857-1907) was born in 1857 in Wordsley, Staffordshire to parents Henry (1828-1889) and Maria [1827-1894].
The 1861 census suggests he grew up at the family home in Buckpool, Wordsley.
Whilst the 1871 census indicates that he spent the later part of his childhood at Woodsetton House.
His first occupation was stated in the 1881 census, where he as described as a mine engineer.
Fredricks’s occupation was described as a coalmaster in Henry Hughes’s 1889.
In the 1891 census, Fredrick’s occupation was listed as a mining engineer living at Woodsetton House.
Fredrick and Ada married on the 12th of December 1895.
Fredrick Whitehouse (1896-1901) was Fredrick and Ada’s first child, he was born in 1896. Dorothy Frederica [(900-1959} was then born in 1900. Cecil Walter (1902-1962) was their third child. Finally, in 1905 Violet Georgina (1905-1970) was born.
The 1901 census for the first-time lists Frederick as the head of the house after the death of his mother Maria in 1894. Frederick is not listed as having a specific occupation instead he is categorised as living off his own means.
Fredericks sudden death in 1907 resulted in Ada becoming a widow at the age of 33. He was buried in the All Saints churchyard in Sedgley on the 27th of July 1907 at the age of 50.

Ada Caddick [1874-1849] was born in April 1874 in Sedgley, Staffordshire. Her parents were Joseph [1838-1897] and Frederica [1839-1909]. Joseph was an agent for a Maltster, and they lived at Bloomfield House, on Dudley Road in Sedgley. This was the previous residence of the father of Fredrick Augustus Homer [1867-1936] who married Gertrude Hughes [1867-1947].
Ada remarried on the 7th of September 1911 to Dr John Whitehouse [1857-1936].
Ada dies on the 19th April 1949.
