Obituary

COLWELL Mr. Elmer Keith Colwell of Tugaske, and formerly of Meadow Lake, passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident near Hanley, Monday, July 3, 1989 at the age of 78 years. Born on the family farm near Bridgeford, Elmer attended Fairdale School and later Bridgeford School. As a young man, he enjoyed racing horses and boxing. He moved to Meadow Lake in 1929 to homestead. He served overseas with The R.C.A.F. and following his return, he spent his summers on the farm north of Eyebrow Valley, and winters in Tugaske. He married Loretta Lowes April 16, 1948. Elmer purchased his first caterpillar tractor in 1951 and continued to farm and do municipal road work. In 1957 he sold his farm and formed Colwell Construction Co. in 1965 Elmer returned to Meadow Lake to farm until 1984 when he returned to his parent's original homestead at Tugaske where he and his son operated The Colwell Construction Co. Elmer will be best remembered by all of his family and friends for his generosity. He was a life member of The Royal Canadian Legion. Predeceased by his parents, Elmer George and Laura Colwell; two brothers: Joseph and Richard. He is survived by his ex-wife, Loretta Lantzille, B.C.; one son, Raymond Curtis (Kathy) Colwell Tugaske; one daughter, Leanne (Blaine) White Tugaske; four grandchildren: Keith, Jordan, Kaleigh and Jessica; three brothers: Maurice (Ruby) Colwell -Tugaske, John (Mildred) Colwell -Summerland, B.C., Howard (Lois) Colwell Sherwood Park, Alta. Funeral services will be held at THE TUGASKE COMMUNITY CENTRE, FRIDAY, JULY 7, 1989 AT 1:00 P.M. Reverend Roger Lowe will officiate. Interment will follow at The Tugaske Cemetery.

LAURETTA COLWELL
Lauretta Marie Colwell
passed away on August 24th, 2012 at the age of 85 years, in the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Born in Woodrow, Saskatchewan on October 16th, 1926. Predeceased by her parents; husbands, Elmer Colwell in 1990 and Winston Gant in 2006; brother Lawrence and sisters, Margaret and Edith. Survived by her loving daughter, Leanne (Blaine); son, Curtis (Kathy); brother, George; grandchildren, Keith, Jordan, Kaleigh, Jessica, Gary, Christopher and Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Cathy and Wendy. Lauretta was an ardent gardener and cook; a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those lives she touched.
Celebration of her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 28th, 2012 at her residence in Nanaimo, BC at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held in the Family Plot on Saturday, September 1st, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Tugaske Cemetery, Tugaske, Saskatchewan.
