Canadian Passenger Lists
Arrived May 31, 1908 at Montreal Quebec on the Dominion, steerage British, William Brockett, age 13, able to read and write, child. [There are several pages of passengers aged 7 to 18. The 14 to 18 year old were listed as labourers or domestics, the younger passengers were listed as child. William would be 14 a few days after arrival. His mother died 3 years before. Thus it seems these children were shipped of to Canada as they had no proper home in England to serve as labour or to be adopted.][His younger brothers arrived in Canada on the same ship about 5 months later. The children were listed as Barnardo’s Party]
