It is regret we announce the passing of Geoffrey Howard Scatchard, age 96, on the morning of January 9, 2008. Geoffrey was the son of Chase pioneer Dr. Walter and Ada Scatchard, who emigrated to Chase from England with their children, Kemble, Gerald (Jack), Mowbray and Mildred. An older son Charles remained in England. Geoffrey the youngest child was born in Chase in 1911 and lived there until joining the Imperial Bank of Commerce at age 18. He married Kate Waters and had two children Arlie and Kemmy. He lived in Alberta and Saskatchewan for his entire career with the bank before retiring in Chase in 1977. He was predeceased by his wife Kate in 1987 and wife Kay Maclean in 1997. He is survived by his loving wife Reta (Eldstrom) with whom he shared the sunsets of their lives. He is also survived by daughter Arlie (Gordon) Fischbach; son, Kem (Jan) Scatchard and grandchildren: Murray, Mark (Kim), Tanya (Bernie), David (Brooke), Heather, Douglas, and great granddaughter Olivia.
