Mr Hauser joined the Union Army and was a vetern of the civil War.
In 1869 [I have 1870] Mrs. Hauser died and in 1879 Mr. Hauser was married to Maggie White. Four children were born to them all being dead at this time except Albert Hauser who lives southwest of Elgin.
Henry Hauser died on October 8, 1924, at the age of 88 years, seven months and one day.
Funeral services were held from the Park Congregational church on Sunday afternoon, October 12th, at 2 o’clock, Rev. W. C. Clifton preaching the sermon. Veterans of the Civil War from Elgin attended the funeral as a mark of respect to their departed comrade. A firing squad from the Elgin Post of the American Legion escourted the body from home to the church and from the church to the grave, where a military salute was fired. . . .
The body was laid to rest in the Park Center cemetery beside the body of one of his sons who died about five years ago.
