Lucy Anstruther was married to Frederick Dudley Kiernander. The London Daily News dated Tuesday January 6th,1903 contains a Wedding notice in its Births, Marriages and Deaths Column. This records that the Wedding took place on New Year's Eve 1902 at Barskimming House, Mauchline, Ayrshire. The Wedding was conducted by two named Reverends from the Mauchline Parish. That they were married also tallies with the English and Scottish Probate Notices for Kiernander in 1927, where Lucy is referred to as his widow, with the gravestone in Mauchline Cemetary where she is also described as his widow, and the fact that their daughter Frances Lucy Marianne, born in 1904, bore the Kiernander surname.

The Edward Dangerfield, aged 1, mentioned with Lucy Anstruther Dangerfield in the 1901 Scottland Census, was not her son but the son of Lucy's brother (also named Edward) who was a Jute agent in India who, sadly, died in Calcutta in November 1905. Lucy's nephew Edward went on to be a notable Captain in the Royal Navy, tragically dying young from illness in 1941. In the 1920's he married Elma Tryphosa Birkett in London. As Elma Dangerfield, she became a notable figure internationally as a lifelong liberal and advocate for peace. She was also an author and Byron expert. When she died in January 2006 aged 98 her obituary appeared in several of the leading UK newspapers. ]
