Lilian Alice Claxton was a civilian casualty of WW2
Lilian was born to the parents of William Alfred Clayton and Alice Jane Clayton,(nee Mitchell)and she was a brother to William. In 1911 she was living with her grandparents and in 1929 she married William James Claxton in Southwark and Lilian and William had one son Leonard William Clayton.
Sadly Lilian and her son Leonard of Peabody Buildings Bermondsey perished as a result of an enemy air attack at nearby Llewellyn Street and were laid to rest at NUNHEAD CEMETERY on the 30th September 1940. Her husband Leonard James was also interred there in March 1956.
At the time of her passing Lilian was 40 years of age.
